Zero-emission transatlantic passenger travel starts here

Introducing ÆQUORIS - a bold new concept for clean ocean travel.

Powered entirely by cryogenic liquid hydrogen, ÆQUORIS is designed to cross the Atlantic in comfort and safety, with zero emissions. No fumes. No CO₂. The only thing she leaves behind is pure, clean water.

ÆQUORIS may be a concept, but this is a fully realised design, with a complete general arrangement, innovative technical solutions, and beautiful, sustainable interiors.

How ÆQUORIS makes it possible

We consulted with leading industry experts, suppliers, systems engineers and researchers in the field of marine decarbonisation to develop a robust, realistic and achievable power system, using commercially available solutions.

All of this combines to give ÆQUORIS an unprecedented range of 4000 miles.

At a glance…

  • Length: 150m

  • Beam: 28m

  • Passengers: 600+

  • Crew: 210

  • Gross Tonnage: 22,500

  • Service Speed: 21 knots

  • 2 x 2,000 m³ bi-lobe hydrogen tanks

  • 177 tonnes of hydrogen consumed per crossing

  • 100 fuel cell modules

  • 34 MW installed power (17 MW operating power)

  • Twin 7.5 MW propulsion pods

  • 2 x 1.5 MW bow thrusters

We’ve got loads more to share with you over the coming weeks and months, including deep-dives into innovative features, reveals of key interior spaces, and an ongoing discussion of how we developed the design.

Since ÆQUORIS is purely an in-house concept, we’re able to take you all the way through our design process; you’ll see everything from the early sketches and behind-the-scenes CAD modelling to interviews with our collaborators and the creation of the final, finished design.
